The Path to Lucidity
This is a dream journal written by me as I attempt to become a successful lucid dreamer.
An Invitation
I was watching The Late Show with David Letterman. He was saying how his first guest would be met at a secret, undisclosed location which I didn't think much of until I was being taken to that location on a public transit bus. Aside from the driver, I was the only one on the bus as it went along the highway for a while and then turned off into the woods. Eventually it got stuck and I had to get out and walk. I think it was around dusk at this point as I don't remember it being particularly bright but it was absolutely quiet in these woods, there were no animal sounds whatsoever. The path went up a long, steep hill and by the time I reached its narrow end, the sky was completely dark. At the top it opened up into a circular clearing and there was a naked woman with remarkably long hair swimming in a small pond of clear water. I took off my shirt and entered the water. We started talking and I realized she was waiting for Letterman so I said, 'He's old enough to be your father' and she just sorta smiled and said, 'I know'. I mentioned that I'd really like to make it too. Then she just disappeared for a while but when she returned she'd brought a friend. As the friend stood on the water's edge, Dave's girl asked, 'You do wanna make it, right?' 'Well, of course' I answered. But I knew the friend wanted me to go with her to her home so I added, 'Um, the only thing is I don't have my license. Will that be a problem?'. Then the dream ended.
I almost clued into the fact that this was a dream near the very beginning, because Dave saying he had to go somewhere to meet his guest struck me as being really odd.
Accosted
It was night time in the city. My mom and I were going somewhere and we walked down a grassy hill toward a main street. When we got there a car with two men inside pulled up beside us and the one on the passenger side got out. He had short cut white hair and started walking after my mother like he meant to hurt her. As he went toward her I stayed behind him, all the while keeping my hands open and in the air. As he got behind her I went around him, until he was on the other side of a chain link fence running down the sidewalk. He didn't seem to like this, so he went back to the car and they drove off but not before one of them said something like, 'Don't worry, next time he won't be so f___ing brave, that's for sure'. After they had gone I said to one or two men standing by, 'You saw that, I never touched him' and they nodded in agreement. After that I think I was alone walking down the road. A really flashy sports car, a convertible, pulled into a driveway just ahead of me. An older woman wearing a hat and large, dark glasses got out. She rang the doorbell and turned to look at me with a big smile on her face. I think she might've had the car's radio on because when I woke up, I had Stone Temple Pilots' 'Army Ants' stuck in my head.
At no point in the dream did I feel even remotely lucid. The overall sensation was uneasiness.
